The Changellenge career platform has summarised the results of the largest case championships of the 2024/25 season, presenting an updated ranking of universities according to their level of practical orientation. HSE University was announced as the overall winner.

The HSE Moscow campus held a meeting with Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieyra, the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the Russian Federation. HSE Vice Rector Victoria Panova, Academic Supervisor of the School of International Regional Studies Olga Volosyuk, and Head of the International Partnerships Office Ksenia Shevtsova took part in the meeting. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding academic cooperation, including student exchanges, translation projects, and joint research initiatives.

Researchers at the HSE Centre for Language and Brain used eye-tracking to examine how bilinguals switch between languages in response to context shifts. Script differences were found to slow down this process. The article has been published in Bilingualism: Language and Cognition.

Foreign scientists successfully continue their work in HSE University laboratories, combining fundamental and applied research to achieve significant results. At the end of May, the HSE University Cultural Centre hosted the Day of Azerbaijani Culture, organised by the Azerbaijani Student Club. Festival guests sampled national treats, took part in a quiz with prizes, and immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere of a concert with music and traditional dancing. 

According to estimates from HSE University, Moscow leads in the number of charging stations for electric vehicles in Russia, while Nizhny Novgorod ranks first in terms of charging station coverage. The lack of charging infrastructure is one of the key factors limiting the growth of the electric vehicle market. This is stated in the study titled ‘Socio-Economic Aspects of Introducing Electric Vehicles in Commercial Transportation’ conducted by experts from the Institute of Transport Economics and Transport Policy Studies.

The team of the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development has held a series of meetings with partners in China as part of its working visit focused on advancing cooperation. The agenda included urban and agglomeration ranking research, the development of unique educational programmes in urban studies, and other key topics.

On May 29, 2025, a delegation from Sultan Qaboos University paid an official visit to HSE University. The meeting was held at the HSE building on Pokrovsky Bulvar and was dedicated to the development of partnership in science and education. The delegation was led by His Highness Dr Fahad Al Said, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University. During the visit, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation and academic exchange between the universities.

The Green Marathon, organised by Sber, took place in Moscow. Several thousand people ran distances ranging from 4.2 to 21.2 kilometres, including the HSE Running Club team, HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov, and Sber’s CEO German Gref, who took part in the race alongside his son.
